Sycamore Speedway Drivers Do It Again! (Aug 1st & Aug 2nd)

Sycamore Speedway Drivers Did it Again!!
This past Friday, Sycamore Speedway’s Drivers put on a huge show for the fans. Dodging rain all day and evening, Sycamore Speedway staff did what ever necessary to get the show in. With the help from the drivers, the fans had a great show with plenty of action to pass around. In the Powder Puff division, tensions were high. With the return of Linda Sparks (73j, current points leader), Mickee Runge (10, 2nd in points) had it cut out for her. From the dash to the feature, lap after lap, the ladies raced their best for as many points as possible. The Compact Combats had 20 drivers qualify, all eager to win a race. For the first half of the night, the big talk was from the Spectator class. Michael Brancecum (29) lost his title. Previously this year, Brancecum had won every Spectator Friday night feature. Last Friday he placed third. Not only did he get beat, he got beat by a girl, Mallory Jackson (92j) of St. Charles Illinois. The rain started shortly after all the features, However by the readings of the load-o-meter, the crowed wanted to see more. Sycamore Speedway proceeded with their events which lead into an all action packed DEMOLITION DERBY!!
Saturday Night was a great night for racing. Sycamore Speedway hosted races from not only their core classes, Super Late Models, Late Models, Spectator, Powder Puff, and Compacts, but also from the IMRA Midget Lites and the 4-Bar dirt late models. Sycamore Speedway would also like to thank Runge Auto and Tire for their Trophy Dash sponsorship and Tech Weld for the 4-bar feature sponsorship. Nearly 17 cars qualified in for the $1000.00 to win. Charlie Olson (5) was the lucky winner of the 4-Bar Feature. Once again, team 15 racing was successfull. Jordan Jackowiak (LM #10) won his feature. Aswell as, Jay Brendle (SLM #15) won his. The Spectator, Powder Puff, and Compact divisions are becoming quite competitive as points are winding down. Linda Sparks (PP #73j) won the feature and holds on to her points lead. Scott Vetter in the compact division holds his points lead, also winning the feature. Lastly, Joe Jackson rejoins the points sheet as he took hom the victory on Saturday night.
Sycamore Speedway ask for everyone to keep Mike Cunz (compact 11x), his family, and friends in their prayers as he recovers from a rollover from July 26th.
Sycamore Speedway would like to thank all fans, drivers, and sponsors. If it was not for you, racing would not be made possible every Friday and Saturday Nights. Next weekend at the races you will see tons of action packed racing. Friday Night, August 8th, Spectators, Powder Puffs, Compact Combat, and Modified Compacts will all be racing. Along with a Figure 8, One on One Drags, and a Full Size Car DEMOLTION DERBY!!!! Saturday, August 9th is the Kane County Championship. 30 Laps for the Super Late Model Feature.
