July 11th and July 12th at Sycamore Speedway
This past weekend at Sycamore Speedway was another fun filled, action packed weekend. Friday night started with a full field or cars in all divisions; Spectators, Powder Puffs, Compact Combats, and Modified Compacts. The talk of the night, yet once again the 25 lap feature win went to Mike Brancecum in the 29 car. The Powder Puff Feature went to the 73J of Linda Sparks. Derek Swanson won the first Compact Feature. Feature 2 in the Compact Division was a close finish as the 11x (Cunz), 56c (Vetter), and the 12 (Bonnell) all fought for that checkered flag. Coming out on top was the 12 of Lance Bonnell. Concluding the night with another spectacular, twisting metal, Demolition Derby!!! Ryan Decker, Tom Murray, RJ Henderickson, and Jerry Decker, crashed and banged into each other to see who could run the longest.
Saturday Night with a high chance of rain Sycamore Speedway staff worked persistently to provide a track to race on and a place for fans to enjoy some racing. The track was fast as proven by the 133 of Johnny Heath and the 10 of Jackowiak as they held on to fast time in their divisions. Advanced Family Eye Care out of Sycamore, Il sponsored the Trophy Dashes and gave a free pair of Oakleys to the winners. Unfortunately, once again Mother Nature had different plans than racing. We were not able to finish our show. No features were completed.
We would like to thank all drivers and fans that continue to support us and appreciate the efforts we out into, providing you with summer entertainment. For future events please visit us at www.sycamorespeedway.com.
