51st. Anniversary Weekend!!! |
As we get the weekend’s activities rolling we would like to look back. It is hard to believe that 51 years ago the men and women did not finish all preparation until moments before the first green flag drop. If it was not for the dedication of the family, drivers, and fans we would never have made it this far. In honor of the years of racing we have decided to bring back some of the timeless favorites. One being a 50 Lap Spectator Feature on Friday night. Saturday night we saw a great field of cars for a 30 Lap Super Late Model Feature. |
Friday night started off right with 46 Spectators qualifying in. The action started with the first green flag. The first Compact Combat heat got the best of the #13A car, as they took a tumble on the back stretch. Moving into the infamous 50 Lap Feature. Only three cars did not make the start, allowing 43 others the chance for victory. Lap after Lap, Turn after Turn, the cars raced around the oval dodging lapped traffic. About a third of the way through the race, the 96C of Brad Swanson rolled in the number 3 / 4 Turn. Rolling side over side approximately 3 times and ripping the frame straight off the car, Luckily Mr. Swanson and all drivers were not seriously injured. The drama was not over just yet, with half of our show remaining. The 7x, powder puff of Caitlyn Malony rolled her car coming hard into turn 4 trying for the win. The first Compact Combat feature caused the #14 to roll as well. Concluding tonights events with the best Figure 8 we have seen yet and a Demolition Derby. |
Saturday night we hosted all classes of racing plus another visit from the 4-Bars. Once again we seen a full field of cars; Powder Puff, Compact Combat, Spectator, Late Models, Super Late Models, and the 4-Bars. Our Saturday nights just will not let Friday take all the action glory, again we rolled a compact. The number 4 of Josh Sipes out of DeKalb. With a completely different track than the drivers have seen this year, they all adjusted to the circumstances and proved to be the excellent drivers they are. 30 laps for the Super Late Models, 15 for the Late Models, and another 30 for the 4-bar features all went smoothly. The number 28 of Charlie Olson pulled victory in the Super Late model Feature. The Late Model feature, number 10 of Jordan Jackowiak was victorious for the third weekend in a row. Concluding with the 4-Bars, Charlie Olson proved to be on top of his game with another win. |
